  2. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards • What is RYLA? • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a week long course • Promoting leadership skills • through speakers on “leadership” • And activity – sports, competitions, daily challenges.

  3. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards When? Girls camp: 1st July to 8th July 2006 Boys camp: 8th July to 15th July 2006 Where? Abernethy Trust, Nethybridge near Aviemore

  4. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards How old should I be? The programme is open to boys and girls age 15 to 18 How much will it cost me? The course is free. You will be sponsored by the Rotary Club. You will only have to provide a small amount of spending money for the week

  5. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards What activities are offered? Daily physical activities (10am – 5pm) eg canoeing, hill walking, coasteering, windsurfing, mountain biking, rock climbing, gorge walking, swimming, The Abernethy Challenge.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards • What does RYLA offer? • An intensive training programme for potential Leaders • A camp of 7 days run by Rotarians and Professional Trainers • The opportunity to: • meet and work with others as a team. There are usually 64 candidates each week working in 8 teams. • develop personal and inter-personal skills • have fun • meet new people • make friends for life • Improve your leadership skills

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards • What do I do now? • Express an interest to the school and complete an application form to be handed in by ………. • If selected you will attend an interview in ….. • The Interview will be conducted by members of the Rotary Club who will be sponsoring you. • If selected you will be expected to visit the Rotary Club and give a talk.
