  2. Speeches • First, we will finish speeches. Anyone who is absent will give their speech on Friday.

  3. Objective, Agenda, and Homework • Objective: Students will persuade their audience to agree with their viewpoint using a speech. • Agenda: • Finish Speeches • Greek Roots 51-53 • Independent Reading and Quick Write • Mad Libs, if time allows • Homework: • Study for your Greek roots quiz (51-53) on Friday. • Make sure you submit the final drafts of the topic proposal letter, bibliography, and outline before spring break!

  4. Greek Roots 51-53 • Using the word lists I gave you last week, look up the part of speech and definition of TWO WORDS FOR EACH ROOT. Then, draw a visual. • Look up 2 words for petr, peter. • Look up 2 words for lith, lite, ite. • Look up 2 words for astr. • If you were not here last week, then look at the power point for those days on my website to get the 3 new roots with their meanings and word lists. • Quiz is Friday!

  5. Quick Write: Reading 3-2-1 • Read your choice book. • After reading, write about the following 3-2-1 prompt in your composition notebook for about 5 minutes. • What are 3 things that happened in your book today? • What are 2 words or phrases you found interesting? • What is 1 thing you are wondering about in your book?
