  5. Marina and Mooring Facilities I moor my boat at Pilling’s Lock because………

  6. How do we compare to other marinas you have used?

  7. How long have you been using our services a Pilling’s Lock Marina?

  8. Your thoughts on the Marina and Mooring Facilities……. • Like the friendly, helpful staff and the surroundings • Near enough to the shops but remote enough to be secure • Good Location • Very Good • The marina is lovely, very helpful service from Ronnie and Jane….what more could we need

  9. Fingers are short and unstable • No safety facilities on the jetties • Lacking good chandlery • Office-too busy or no response to queries • Unhappy with site security • Café ok, but can me hit and miss

  10. So what improvements could be made?? • Ideally prefer boat length jetties • More DIY Facilities • Cleaning the pontoons to prevent them from being a slip hazard • More stock in shop/chandlery • More security for berth holders (electronic gates) • A boater’s evening when the café is shut (film or games night?)

  11. More signs to remind owners to clear up dog mess • Welcome direct access from marina to towpath • Security gates to all pontoons • More landscaping with trees and shrubbery • Basic provision of safety equipment available as a matter of course (fire extinguishers, buoyancy aids, safety ladders) • More tumble dryers

  12. Solutions… • Boat Length Jetties – not an option but linear berths do occasionally become vacant • More DIY facilities – Slipway half the price of most. Towpath is Free to use & less anti-social for mess. • Cleaning Pontoons – Maintenance Back-log – everyone can help us by brushing their own area • More stock in Chandlery – Next Day ordering service already in place • Electronic Gates – funds not available at present but are planned in the future • Landscaping – underway for 2011 & 2012 • Safety Equipment – TBA • More Tumble Dryers – Will book during next few weeks • Boaters Evenings –quiz night Thursdays with £4.95 dish & Ali Myers running a Poker Night on Wednesdays.

  13. Workshop Facilities • Very busy with around 3-6 week lead time on new work. • Continue Prioritising Surveys & Emergencies • Marine Engineer 1-2 days per week. • All new work should be booked at Marina Office & Steve/Claire will call back to confirm. • No Access for non-staff to Workshop – no Temporary Storage Facilities – Please respect this. • Back-log reduced = more time for Site Maintenance • SUGGEST A MONTHLY WORKSHOP CLINIC?

  14. Fuel & Pump-Out Dock • Scheduled for Installation December 2010 • Self-Service Pump-Out (Token Operated) • Self Service Red Diesel • EPOS – Debit & Credit Cards ONLY • Sold at 60:40 ONLY • Automatic Declaration on entering Card PIN • Increases availability of both services to 7 days per week at customers convenience

  15. Any Further Comments • No direct link to restaurant number on website • Comments on the website sometimes go on the wrong part of the blog • Want airport style access steps • Safety Equipment • Maintain the chains at the end of the jetties • The anti-slip paint is not adequate....more grit needs to be ordered. • More tumble dryers • Poker nights on Wed 7:30pm • NO FIREWORKS • Fuel and pump out dock- Diesel 60/40 split- look at possibility of other supplies • Dog Signs • Bikes • Bus Stops • Floating Pontoons (H Jetty) • WifiSubscribers deposits
