Highlights from 2013 • Pacific Paddling Symposium – Victoria, BC May 31 – June 2, 2013 • Sold out event : hosted over 160 participants including 30 sea kayaking instructors from across Canada and the US Pacific Northwest, 30 volunteers and 100 participants • 2014 Pacific Paddling Symposium on May 30–June 1 is already sold out again. • National Trade Shows: • Toronto Outdoor Adventure & Fall Cottage Life • Calgary & Vancouver Outdoor Adventure • Ottawa Outdoor Adventure (thanks to Ontario Tourism and National Search and Rescue Secretariat) Paddle Canada Executive Director's Report for 2013 AGM- April 24, 2014

Highlights from 2013 • New Liability Insurance Policy of $5 million for instructors when teaching a registered PC course/clinic with added coverage for participants & volunteers. • Member Sport Accident Policy of $50,000 • Paddle Canada now included in OPHEA Manual • After a 2 year review process, PC canoeing is now included as an ORCKA training equivalent. Highlights from 2013 • Finalized A Strategic Plan : Paddle Canada’s Float Plan for Success 2013-15 PC’s Float Plan for Success with board and facilitator Tim Fleming from InnovationsWorks.com, with a meeting in January 2013 in Ottawa. Transport Canada National Recreational Boating Advisory Committee • Continue to serve as a member of NRBAC and attended meetings in April & November 2013 in Ottawa with many other national water safety stakeholders.
