  2. What is relief sculpture? • Relief is sculpture built up off a flat surface. • High relief has areas raised up to several inches. • Relief is made to be viewed from one direction.

  3. Pablo Picasso • Created the working style called Cubism. • Cubism discards perspective and shows multiple viewpoints at the same time. • Breaks the figure into flat planes. • Inspired by African art, specifically masks.
