Evaluating Class Progress This session will look at evaluating progress in your class and ways to do it. We will mostly focus on learning to use Survey Monkey to do this.
Why evaluate? Pre-testing • To establish their current curriculum level. So you don’t re-teach what they are good at. • To gather information about how to teach your students and how they prefer to learn. Post-testing • To see how students have performed. • To evaluate your own teaching.
Ways to evaluate? • Surveys – hard copy/electronically • Tests – hard copy/electronically • Questionnaires • Performance • Conversation/dialogue • Assessment tasks • Antidotal evidence – class observation • Sport – beep test.
Benefits of electronic evaluation • Can manipulate the data • Stored easily • Can come back to and compare against each other in charts, spreadsheets etc.
