  3. OUR Community needs OUR Help • Many of our pupils and parents/carers have been affected by the floods from last week • We need to support our community • So what are we doing?

  4. Calder High’s response • A staff working party has been set up to look at ways in which the school can support its community • We are working with the local town council to organise support

  5. What are we doing? • We are making a substantial donation to the Calderdale Community Foundation www.cffc.org.uk on behalf of the school • The money from the non-uniform day on the 20th July will go towards the fund. £1 donation from pupils • Various money raising activities to be arranged week commencing 2nd July to raise money for the Foundation • Student Suggestion box in the LRC. How can you help? • Details of web sites to offer support placed on the school’s web site • We are supporting any copying, distribution of literature/materials for the community eg leaflets

  6. What can you do? • If you want to donate any money. Please pass it to Mrs Kershaw via Student Services • Volunteer to the Student Community Action Group. We are awaiting details from the local town council on how we can offer our support • Organise a cake sale, football tournament, film club with your form/friends/staff to raise money for the Foundation • A list will be available of voluntary jobs pupils/Parents/Carers/Staff can do to support the community at the weekend. This list will be available on the website as soon as we receive it from Inspector D Binn. • Visit www.cvac.org for more details on how to volunteer • ALL MONIES RAISED GO STRAIGHT BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY

  7. Have you been affected by the floods? • There is support in school if you have been affected by the floods. • Ms Standring is available for our students. If you need support in any form eg worried about the damage, lost your books in the flood, uniform issues, meals, someone to talk to.
