A proposed transformation of a 47-mile stretch of the BNSF Railroad corridor from Renton to Snohomish into a multiuse trail promises to vastly expand local trail networks for cyclists and pedestrians. This initiative offers greater access to businesses, schools, and parks, potentially boosting tourism and improving quality of life. The plan acknowledges that reconverting the trail back to rail use would be costly and impractical, making this trail a vital asset for the region’s transportation and recreational needs.

Cons Business impacts. Boeing uses the Eastside rail line to move fuselage pieces between Renton and Everett. It would be difficult and expensive to reconvert the trail to rail use once the tracks had been removed. No Spirit of Washington dinner train. Pros Vastly expand the network of trails for cyclists. Greater access to businesses, schools, and parks. Chance of lifetime. Could be a great tourist attraction. Another route for commuters to choose from. Improve living quality Train Tracks, not to be!
