The LFS-Digital Project is a professional development initiative aimed at building teacher capacity through the Delaware Prioritized Curriculum and innovative multimedia and digital resources. Funded by the ARRA 2009 Stimulus through a competitive grant process, the project includes partnerships with Discovery Education and K12 Handhelds Inc. Over two years, the project offers multiple professional development opportunities, integrates technology into lesson planning, and utilizes teacher and student surveys to assess impact. The goal is to improve student achievement while bridging the digital divide.

The Plan • 3 PD opportunities Year 1 & 2 • Multi-media Alignment • Technology Symposium • Acquisition Lesson Coaching/Development • Teacher and Student pre- post surveys • Learning Communities • Website • Ongoing PD support through school based dept and faculty meetings • Use of aligned Multi-media and Digital Resources in classroom instruction and planning

How can you access? • For all resources simply go to the site • To access Discovery Education you will need to have a United Streaming account. Contact jim white to get a pass code.
Opportunities in year 2? • Stay tuned for information late winter or early spring • Additional 96 instructional units with Open Resources and Discovery Education partners. • Professional development will take place in Summer 2011. • Multi-media Alignment required 3 days for participants • Technology Symposium optional 2 days • Acquisition Lesson Coaching/Development optional
