Genetic Diversity of Cyprinella and Dionda Species in Frio and Nueces Rivers

This study focuses on the genetic diversity and haplotype distribution of various Cyprinella and Dionda species found in the Frio and Nueces Rivers. Key species examined include Cyprinella lepida, Cyprinella lutrensis, Cyprinella venusta, and several Dionda species. The analysis of haplotypes such as Hap.1 through Hap.19 provides insight into the population structure and evolutionary relationships among these freshwater fish species. Our findings highlight the ecological significance and conservation needs of these diverse aquatic taxa.
