AS ON NEW YEAR… • It’s said to be unlucky to sweep the room, because you could sweep out all your luck. • you also shouldn’t eat poultry because your luck could fly away. • Housewife musn’t do the laundry or clean up otherwise she would be overworked herself and bring home death. • On the New Year’s table should be some lentils, which brings money, and some pork because piggy symbolizes luck.

  3. PF-POUR FÉLICITER • Good luck - from French pour féliciter • It's used on New Year's wishes • Firstnew year's wish was made sometime in Middle Ages • Today, unlike in thepast, are common electronic "PF's", but we can still find even the paper ones.

  4. SYMBOLS • New Year’s are mainly piggys, chimney-sweep, cloverleaf, candles, sandglass and hosreshoes.

  5. SiLVESTeR-the pope • The last day of the year is dedicated to memory of pope Silvester. • Originally there weren't any traditions on the last day of the year. • In heatens community celebrations weren't welcomed.

  6. New Year's resolutions • Promises that people take to themselves. • Mostofpeople never keep them. • f.e: I quit smoking, I'll run every day, I'll ...

  7. firework • It is a contemporary customs. • It's possible to get a lot kinds of firecrackers, bangers and other pyrotechnics. • Towns make usually their own fireworks which happens to be amazing. • On the other side you can see a lot of traumas caused by pyrotechnics.
