Integrated Coastal Area Management

This presentation outlines the current state of Lebanon's coastline and proposes a vision for sustainable coastal area management. Lebanon lacks a national plan for coastal zone management, with positive efforts predominantly driven by NGOs and limited governmental initiatives. Post-civil war reconstruction prioritized infrastructure over environmental concerns, leading to coastlines plagued by mass tourism and urban encroachment. Our vision emphasizes sustainable development, local empowerment, clean public beaches, pollution protection, and eco-tourism to preserve Lebanon's natural coastal heritage.
