Understanding the Starvation Diet: Effects and Risks

The starvation diet involves drastically reducing food intake or consuming foods with minimal calories. While some studies suggest potential longevity benefits, this approach can lead to significant muscle loss and increased fat storage. Short-term effects include low energy levels, dry skin, and cognitive decline. Severe risks like electrolyte imbalance can lead to coma or death. Additionally, the body may develop a downy layer of hair as a protective measure. It's vital to consult a doctor before attempting such a diet.
