Environmental Comparison of CO2 Emissions in LPG and Gasoline Passenger Vehicles

This report examines the environmental capabilities of LPG vehicles in comparison to gasoline-powered passenger cars, focusing on CO2 emission levels. Measured data reveals that LPG vehicles emit 257.4 g/km of CO2, significantly lower than the 290.6 g/km from gasoline vehicles. Additionally, the study analyzes particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions in trucks, showing LPG vehicles achieve superior environmental performance with PM emissions at 0.002 g/kWh and NOx at 0.01 g/kWh, compared to their diesel counterparts. Data sources include the Japan Automobile Transportation Technology Association and the Japan Automobiles Research Institute.
