  3. Visual Aids Should Contain summary information Be quick to read Be used while talking, not before or after Be put out of sight when not being used

  4. Elements of Visual Aids Organization - the audience must be able to follow your thoughts Simplicity - Visual aids should be simple no matter how technical the subject Clarity - Use a minimum of words to avoid crowding Legibility - ensure that your audience can see the message you are conveying

  5. Guidelines for Using Visual Aids use only if necessary make large enough make simple introduce beforehand show only when ready

  6. Guidelines Continued put out of sight when finished speak to the audience, not the visual don't let visuals dominate the speech

  8. Font – Style • Be sure your font is easy to read • This in’ta good font to use • Neither is this • Even this one is difficult to read • This one is nice (Century Gothic) • And so is this one (Arial)

  9. Font Size Don’t use a font size that can’t be read from the back of the room Font size depends on the font selected 32 pt 24 pt 20 pt 16 pt 12 pt 8 pt
