Have your Resume Ready for Action • Make sure your name pops and that you have an organized format • Use buzz/key words • Quantify your information – use numbers to show value whenever possible • Avoid too much white space • Adding interests at the bottom of the page can spark a conversation or a connection

Cover Letters: Something to Think About • Some companies require this – have a copy ready • Showcase your writing abilities • Taylor each cover letter to the specific company and position • Express your true interest in the company and how your skills align with the position • Have different variations of your cover letter available for different positions and types of companies ready to go

World News • President Obama speaks at United Nations General Assembly today • Kenya President declares victory over terrorists in Mall Massacre • Bank of America heads to trial for U.S mortgage fraud charges ~“The trial is also a reminder of the billions of dollars in legal liabilities Bank of America has incurred as a result of its 2008 acquisition of Countrywide Financial Corp, which became a poster child of the mortgage meltdown.”(Reuters)

  9. Rutgers News • Showcase Story: School of Engineering sophomore Thomas Piccirello is offering a more affordable alternative for iPhone repairs. Last January, Piccirello started Rutgers Repair, a service catered specifically to fixing iPhones for Rutgers students. “The cost of repair for the iPhone 4 or 4s is $65, [for] the iPhone 5 it is a bit more,” he said. “Compared to Apple, there’s no question [that it is a good price]. They’re charging upwards of $150.” In a word of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs on campus, Piccirello said word of mouth is often more effective than traditional advertising, especially at Rutgers. You can check out Tom’s Services for yourself at https://rutgersrepair.com/
