Introduction • Fruits are something we have every day and they are rich in vitamins, minerals, fibers, and irons etc. • They can lower the risk or prevent of serious illnesses and health problems. • Fruits are also good for your skin as well. • They are also a great nutritious low in calorie snacks to have. • We should have 2-4 servings of fruit in our diet everyday.

Why Is It Important To Have Fruits In Our Diet? • Fruits are very low in calories and they contain no fats or cholesterol which helps us stay fit and healthy. • People have discovered that fruits are able to lower the risk of illnesses and health problems like I said before. • Such as cancer, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular diseases. • People could also avoid illnesses and health problems by looking after themselves and choosing wisely at what they put in their diet. • Statistics also show us that 35 - 50% of cancer cases are related to diet. • Fruits also help us get rid of or toxins and waste out of our body.

Why Is It Important To Have Fruits In Our Diet? continued • Fruits have a hydrating effect and most of them are also contain potassium, magnesium, and sodium, which acts as a diuretic. • They are very rich in fiber which helps us in digest easier and they contain lots of minerals. • All fruits have carbohydrates and it gives us energy to help us get through the day.

What’s in our Fruits? • Fruits are made up of water • For example, melons are 94% water which is good for our body and they also contain lots of fiber which helps our body to clean out the waste and toxins. • Different colored fruits contain different vitamins, minerals, and nutrients etc. • For example, green fruits and vegetables like cabbage and spinach have carotenoids that help us delay or protect degenerative eye diseases. They are also high in vitamin c and e (which are good antioxidants) and they can prevent your body from making cancer cells or heart diseases. • Fruits that are red, yellow, and orange, like melons, tomatoes, apples, and apricots etc., have lots of vitamin A, C, and E,

Things You Could Do to Add Fruits in Your Diet. • If you’re not a fruit person, here are some things you could do to add more fruits in your diet: • Have a cup of freshly squeezed juice. • Add fruits like bananas, apples, or kiwis to your cereal. • Choose dried fruits as snacks instead of chips and candy. • Have a fruit salad as dessert. • Pack an apple, orange, strawberries or bananas in your lunch.

  7. Fruits in our Diet is also Good for our Skin! • Apples or apple juice help fine wrinkles, cracked skin, itching, and inflammation. People have been used them for their skin for centuries. • Juice of apricots help sunburns, itching and eczema. • Avocados and bananas can be used as face masks as well. • Lemons are used to clean and freshen our hair and skin. • Lime juice are known to help in controlling the oily skin, rough and dry skin and remove freckles. • Mango leave can be boiled and used as an antiseptic. • Orange juice helps get rid of pimples and acne and it also helps remove scars and blemishes.

Fun Facts! • Having an apple is like having a cup of coffee.Sometimes the natural sugar in an apple is more than the caffeine in coffee. • Banana plants are not considered a tree, they’re the worlds biggest herb. • Pineapples are berries. • Apples float on water because they are 25% air. • An average strawberry has 200 seeds. • There are over 7000 different types of apples. • People can make furniture using wood from a pear tree because it’s hard. • Fibers in pineapples were used to make rope and a cloth called pino. • Pineapples are berries. • Pumpkins and avocados are fruits not vegetables. • Osage oranges are used to repel cockroaches.
