  4. Mission Statement The Parks & People Foundation is dedicated to supporting a wide range of recreational and educational opportunities; creating and sustaining beautiful and lively parks; and promoting a healthy natural environment for Baltimore.

  5. SuperKids Mission Statement The mission of SuperKids Camp is to provide a nurturing summer, academic enhancements, and cultural enrichment programs for rising 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students in BCPSS. In addition to boosting academic skills, SuperKids Camp is committed to exposing children to fun, intellectually stimulating enrichment opportunities they might not otherwise experience.

Parks & People Overview Motivating Youth Programs • Sports • Over 30,000 participants served • Baseball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Summer Enrichment • Environmental Education • KidsGrow , Project BLUE, After-School Enrichment, Schoolyard Greening Habitat Program, GBCAN • SuperKids Camp • Over 23,000 participants served • Academic enrichment program

Parks & People Summer Learning History Lesson 101 • When we began operating Parks & People Sports Programs over 16 years ago we noted a disparity between athletic and academic ability • There was no summer intervention program provided by the school system • Summer Learning Loss Research • SuperKids Camp has served over 23,000 students and is an Excellence in Summer Learning Award Winner

  8. Baltimore City Super Summer is an innovative partnership between the City of Baltimore, Baltimore City Public Schools and nonprofits to ensure that every child has access to  learning, meals, reading and other fun activities during the summer. http://bmoresupersummer.org

  9. SuperKids Camp SuperKids Camp is to provide a nurturing summer academic enhancement and cultural enrichment program for students in City Schools.   10. 2014 Program Scope SuperKids Camp 500 participants Rising 2nd – 4th graders Staffing – College Students, Certified Educators 6 weeks, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 7 camp sites Breakfast, Lunch and Transportation Provided 8 enrichment providers

A Day in the Life of A SuperKid! 9:00- 9:30 a.m.- Students Arrive & Eat Breakfast 9:30- 10:20 a.m.- Open Court 10:20- 10:35 a.m.- Powered by PlayWorks Activities 10:35- 11:15 a.m.- 100 Book Challenge 11:15- 11:45 a.m.- Math Activities 11:45 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.- Lunch & Recreation 12:15- 2:30 p.m.- Enrichment Activities 3:00 p.m. Dismissal
