Agenda History AS – big picture Basic organizational and technological principles Requirements AS – Information System AS – modules Reference
History • 1994 – Niko d.o.o. – computer technician school • 1996 – First AS modules installed and used on Split Airport, Croatia • 1998 – DCS developed • 1999 – AS installed in cooperation with Siemens on Dubrovnik Airport, Croatia • 2001 – AS installed on Airport Zadar, Croatia • 2003 – ASinstalled on Airport Pula, Croatia • 2005 – AS installed on Airport Brač, Croatia • 2007 – ASinstalled on Airport Rijeka, Croatia • 2007 – AS installed and in use on Debrecen Airport, Hungary • 2009 – AS installed on Airport Osijek, Croatia • 2012 – AS (without DCS) installed on Zagreb Airport, Croatia • 2014 - New version of AS (Java WEB platform) installed on Dubrovnik Airport, Croatia • 2016 – AS installed on Mostar Airport, Bosna i Hercegovina
AS – Big picture • AS – what does it mean: An integrated information system for handling aircraft, passengers, baggage and cargo, consisted of separate (modular) softwares interconnected into a single system • Development and support 100% in-house • Modularity • Technology: • Fox Pro 2,62 – VFP 8; Oracle 10g/11 database • Java, Java Script,JSP, ASP .NET, Oracle 11 database
AS Big picture 120 landing/taking off’s handled in 1 day 24,000 passenger managed in 1 day 5,5 millions of passengers managed in 1 year on Croatia’s airports (Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula, Rijeka, Osijek, Brač)
Basic organizational and technological principles • Information system is organized in a way that enables: • View of each module in real time • This allows not only quality organization but also intervention in the process if required • Modular work – any part of the AS can work as independent SW but CDB needs to be installed
Requirements PC PDA Operating system Win 2000, 2003, XP or Windows 7,Win 10 Microsoft local network and Wireless network Servers
AS modules • Central DataBase system (CDB) • Time table management • Departure Control System (DCS) / ITCI – LH Systems • Aircraft preparation • Flight preparation • Check-In • Boarding • Weight & Balance (W&B) • Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) • Self Check-In • Web Check-In • ITCI • ETKT (Working copy)
AS modules Invoicing System Lost Luggage System NIKO SITA interface (Interface with SITA network) Human Resource Planning System Cargo Handling System Aircraft Stands Planning System Flight Information Display System (FIDS) Flight Information Sound System (FISS) PDA – RCL
Central DataBase System (CDB) Base module – required for individual module standalone operation Consists of numerous data tables that become the origin of information for all other functions Holds information of all required data (flight, international code tables, SITA address book, conversion tables, airport codes, invoicing information, aircraft parking position, full aircraft data, …
Invoicing • Module for calculation of service provided in handling process. Module is using information from the CDB including an account of services provided, passenger figures, aircraft type and weight. • Consists of two main parts: • single flight (ch-note) statement creation • periodic accounting services for one or more flights (ch-summary) . • Module contains information about airport • tarrifs, carrier contracts, …
Departure control system (DCS) • Module is made up of seven individual programs, each interconnected in a way that each user is able to create or get any information (contained in one of the programs) in real time: • Submodules are: • Check-in preparation • Aircraft preparation • Flight preparation • Check-in • Boarding • Weight&Balance W&B • Baggage Reconcilation System BRS
Check-In preparation Module for Check-in preparation, aircraft and flight Provides a quick and easy preparation of the passenger cabins of aircraft configuration, in accordance with AHM560.
Boarding • Module is used for reconciliation of the number of checked-in passengers and their baggage and consequently their acceptance for flight • Includes: • identification of passengers • number of flight destinations control • total number of passengers registered on the flight
Baggage reconciliation • Module has 2 main functions: • pairing of each passenger and his luggage • control of sorting and loading luggage on flights, as well as compliance with a list of load and balance
Baggage reconciliation Baggage reconciliation system
Weight and Balance Module for controlling weight and balance of the aircraft One of the most complex and most demanding applications in the system that enables easy and safe weight and balance (trim) of the aircraft In the AS this trim sheet including The Center of Gravity Position, is represented in the form of a diagram. The trim sheet will also show “the ideal trim line” advising the user how close they are to ideal trim. Ideal trim is used for fuel efficiency and saves the airlines money.
Flight Information Display System Module that includes a fully integrated and automated system for notification of schedule and the latest updates via monitors in the offices and the Passenger Terminal (check-in, gate, ...).
Flight Information Sound System Module for notifying passengers and staff through an audio speaker system Standard messages are composed of pre-recorded parts (messages) that are automatically organized and published for individual flights. Standard information on protective measures in the ZL are fully automated and are published at regular intervals
Lost Luggage Module has automated process of preparation of all documents pertaining to the lost/damaged luggage, and creating, transmitting and (meaningful) comparison of all messages related to the particular case ... (SITA - message type "B").
Cargo Module used for creating and printing the actual Airwaybill (AWB) and Cargo Manifest and all other documents or paperwork used in connection with the Cargo handling function. Fully integrated with all other modules enabling the Cargo department access to flight schedules or weight and balance information and also allowing the weight and balance department access to real-time cargo information per flight
SITA Interface Module that connects AS to the SITA communications system Designed to fully automate creation, transmission, reception and (internal) distribution of all type "B“messages .
Aircraft Stand Planning Module that in accordance with the type of parked aircraft and traffic and technological design of the aircraft apron defines the limits of adjacent positions (if any ...)
Human Resource Planing Module that in accordance with the daily flight schedule and organizational structure of handlingdefines the required number of employees at workplaces throughout the day.
Statistical Reporting AS system is capable of producing all types of statistics including delay stats, incoming/outgoing/transit/transfer passenger stats, aircraft movements, peak hours, nr. of passengers/baggage checked in by a particular agent within a chosen time scale, …
Self Check-In Module that allow passengers easy and quick self check-In on terminal premises
Self Check-In Self check-in – seat selection
PDA – RCL Module that improved the monitoring process of the apron, and a allowed easier coordination between the coordinators on the apron and „LOADSHEET“ department The module requires wireless networks and mobile handheld device with a PC or Windows CE operating system.
PDA – RCL Management jobs on the apron - PDA
Web Check-In The module allows passengers to check-in from their own home regardless of the airline nor the destination to which the passenger is traveling. The module provides all functions that are used in the standard admission of passengers on the flight, such as: ITCI, APIS, change seats, group checkmark, ...
Web Check-In Acceptance of passengers on the flight – entering personal data
