  1. The Tudor dynasty • The Tudor dynasty or House of Tudor was a royal house of Welsh origin. • Its first monarch was Henry VII, a descendant through his mother of a legitimised branch of the English royal House of Lancaster.

  2. Before the age of Henry VII,England wasn’t in a good moment. • Henry VII wanted to reinforce the cultural and military position of England. • With the king Henry VII the military power was extended but the soldiers couldn’t use the warships to fight,because they were used only for the transport of goods.

  3. Hery VIII was the second son of Henry VII,He was called “The Golden Prince”. • When he was young,he recieved a chivarly education,but he was more interested in a culture. • He marriedCatherine of Aragon on 11 June 1509; they were crowned at Westminster Abbey on 24 June the same year. • Sfortunatamente per Enrico e Caterina l'erede tanto atteso non arrivò: il loro primogenito Enrico, duca di Cornovaglia morì dopo 52 giorni e successivamente nacque una bambina sana, che venne battezzata Maria.

The sovereign was declared Supreme Head of the Church of England began to give shape to a clerical structure detached from the Vatican.

  6. The marriage took place between the end of 1532 and beginning of 1533 and in September, was born their daughter, Elizabeth. • Henry married Jane Seymour, and also had a son who was christened Edward.

  7. Mary I was the daughter of Henry VIII. • She married the catholic Philip II of Spain. • Mary was called “Bloody Mary” because it was determined to restore Catholicism, he persecuted the Protestants, who ended up at the stake in large numbers between 1555 and 1558.

  8. Elizabeth I of England • Elizabeth I was the daughter of Anne Boleyn and Henry III.

  9. She had a strong personality but she was also very sensible. • She spoke a lot of languages:English,Spanish,Latin and also Italian. • Elizabeth I was unmarried but she was in love with a man,Sir Walter Raleigh

  10. The Queen sent his people to colonize the territories in a lot of parts of the world. • The soldiers of queen were a sort of pirats,they took from the real pirats the secret of warships. • Elizabeth I defeated the Spanish Armada in a sea war. • When Elizabeth was dying she wanted to die standing on her feets.
