  3. Afternoon of the ElvesMain Characters:Sara-Kate Connolly (11 years old) Hillary Lenox (9 years old)

  4. Summary • Sara-Kate lived in rundown house with a lot of trash in her backyard. She was held back in school and did not dress well. She had no friends at school. • Hillary lived next door to Sara-Kate. She dressed nice and had lots of friends. • Sara-Kate invited Hillary to her house to see an elf village in her backyard. • The two became friends and work on the elf village for many months. • Sara-Kate never invited Hillary in her house. Also, she never saw Sara-Kate eat anything but mint leaves and berries.

  5. Summary • Sara-Kate missed a lot of school and Hillary went to her house. She knocked on the door but nobody answered. The door opened and she went inside. It was very messy and almost no furniture. It was cold because there was no heat. • She went upstairs and saw Sara-Kate in a rocking chair with her mother in her lap. • Sara-Kate yelled for her to get out! • Read the book to find out what happens next!
