  1. Discretionary Budget Update • Split between area wide and ward specific projects • Some projects allocated specifically, for example £26,000 to the Neighbourhood Environmental Action Teams. • Other projects decisions are delegated to the manager and the chair to make.

Quick wins expenditure Area wide £9,436 • £2,650 for bulbs given out to local groups across the area Shiregreen Brightside ward £10,406 • £250 contribution to a Cardiac Olympics event held by Sheffield International Venues • Repairs to fencing at Nethershire shops - £765 • Electronic speed signs installation - £2,120

Quick wins Burngreave Ward £23,334 • £1,250 contribution to volunteer coordinator at Pitsmoor CAB • Relocation of MOCAM at Skinnerthorpe Rd to combat flytipping £830 • Clean up and additional planting at planters on Firshill, Passhouses Rd and Scott Rd £550 • New planting for Gower St roundabout £240 • £500 to support Abbeyfield Festival • Equipment for street cleaning project in Page Hall £170 • Support Burngreave Messenger £3,500 • Replace vandalised tree on Abbeyfield Road c£300

  4. Quick wins Firth Park £23,251 • £250 contribution to Cardiac Olympics • £1,687 to the Flower Estate Community Association for the summer play scheme • £2,500 for Community chest grants • £5,000 for Bring Out Your Rubbish days

  5. Quick Wins Southey Ward £10,000 • £3,000 contribution to activities in and around the Chaucer public square • £3,000 for Bring Out Your Rubbish days

  6. Consultation Vehicle 2011-12 • Vehicle was booked out for 22 days in the last financial year raising income of £6,389. • Costs totalled £5,606, the biggest cost being nearly £4,000 on drivers. • This year we are getting plenty of interest in the vehicle – it was even in a prime spot for Fright Night!

  7. Highways Budget • £10,000 per ward • Firth Park have allocated approximately £4,000 so far, including installing bollards at Bellhouse Rd to prevent delivery vehicles parking on the footway • Shiregreen and Brightside have allocated just over £1,000, including the installation of a rail outside the pedestrian entrance to Wincobank School.

  8. Highways Budget • Burngreave have allocated approximately £4,350 including extra signage at the Yorkshire Muslim Academy following a petition presented at the Community Assembly meeting earlier this year. • Southey are still to make decisions. • Highways budget can be carried forward at the end of the year and members are intending to combine their budgets with Streets Ahead works to maximise impact and value.
