  3. We all negotiate in our personal and professional lives. We negotiate when we want to do something different at work, or at home. Sometimes it’s easy to negotiate, but other times, when we are at stake or we are upset, the task can be difficult. Effective negotiating can help you work more effectively with your customers, co-workers, and bosses, employers. NEGOTIATION

If you know the country so well you can be my guide. E: (2) ………………………………………………? I haven’t relaxed for months and you want me to work. Z: What do you mean by work? We can go swimming or sailing and do very little sightseeing (3)…………………………….to a place where you’ve been yet? E: Ok. Only if you promise lots of water sports, discos every night and no museums and galleries. But. (4) ……………………………………………transport? Z: (5) ………………………………………….…..going by plane. It’s comfortable and fast and so exciting. E: Flying isn’t a good idea because it’s expensive.(6) …………………………………….by coach? Z: (7) ………………………………………………! Do you know how long it takes to get to Greece by coach>I’m not going to spend two days on a hot bumpy bus. E: Well, all right but if we go by plane we won’t be able to afford a long holiday. Z: We should call a travel agency to find out about the prices. Maybe there are some special offers available and (8) …………………………….book something. E: Let’s check out some agencies on the Internet first? Z: (9) ……………………………………………..! Let’s do it right away!

What about my gym schedule? • C) I don’t believe it.Never do something like this on your own because you can pull a muscle or injure yourself even more seriously. • D) Well, maybe you’re right, but I can’t wait for the effects, you know-well shaped body and better stamina. • E) Oh , come on If you want to have real effects, you must be patient and hardworking. • F) Are you kidding? I’ve already made my own plan. I don’t have that much time to build up my muscle. • G) I’m really sorry. I didn’t come to help you but my flatmate broke his leg and I had to take him to hospital.

FEEDBACK: 1.How many points did your speaker get? 2.What difficulties and problems did you notice? 3.How did you feel as an examinator? 4.How did you feel as a speaker ( a student taking an oral exam) ? 5.Did this lesson help you to understand the matura role play task? Assessment: giving marks for lesson activity.

  14. HOMEWORK : Write down in your copybook what expressions you use when you feel surprised, angry, joy, upset, admiration, sympathy ( compassion), sorrow ( grief). What other expressions /phrases would you say when you don’t agree with your speaker.
