This training module aims to equip students with the skills needed to prepare a radiological work plan (RWP) and safely perform designated tasks using appropriate radiological survey data and templates. Students will learn to identify hot spots from radiological surveys, handle high radiation areas, and follow stringent safety instructions. Emphasis is placed on maintaining documentation integrity and returning practical exercise materials correctly. This practical exercise enhances understanding of radiological safety and planning effectiveness.

Learning OutcomesUpon completion of this lesson, the student will be able to: • Given the appropriate radiological survey information and blank documents or templates, demonstrate the ability to prepare a radiological work plan and an RWP to safely perform a designated task.
Instructions • Follow the directions provided in the Student Guide for this PE. • The post-event survey performed last week after the High Radiation Alarm in room 509 identified three hot spots with extremely high dose rates. • Room A-509-B at Survey Point A-509-2 • Room A-509-C at Survey Point A-509-3 • Room A-509-D at Survey Point A-509-6
Room A-509-B A-509-2
Room A-509-C This hot spot was flushed by increasing the flow through the flow control valve. A-509-3
Room A-509-D A-509-6
