  3. Power • ĕxŏusia[Gr]– ability, force, capacity, delegated authority, right • Dunamis[Gr]– force, might, strength • shiltown (shil-tone) [Heb] – potentate – shield, controlling power, protecting power

  4. Power has the ability to control

  5. Different kinds of power

  6. Power of lust or desire (1John 2:16) • Power of beauty • Power of sex (Samson) • Power of money • Physical power • Power of love • Power of the gospel (the Word) – Rom 1:16

  7. Every power has its source

  8. Every circumstance recognizes and responds to a higher power

  9. Inanimate things - Jesus speaks water and storm (Matthew 8:26) Animal kingdom – you walk on serpents … (Luke 10:19) People - The word of a king has power ..(Eccl 8:4)

Biology . a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism, as from the caterpillar to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly. • 2. a complete change of form, structure, or substance, as transformation by magic or witchcraft. • 3. any complete change in appearance, character, circumstances, etc.

  16. What are we being transformed into?

Galatians 4:19 19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you. 2 Corinthians 3:15-18 18But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

  20. Total transformation occurs in 3 dimensions Spirit, Soul, body (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

  21. Our spirit – regeneration by God’s Spirit (1 Peter 1:23; John 3:3,5,6)

  23. Our Body Now – wholeness (3 John 1:2) Then – resurrected body (transformed) (1 Corinthians 15: 51 - 54)

  24. Our Soul (Mind) Renew our thinking (Proverbs 23:7) Knowledge – Understanding – Wisdom (Ephesians 1:15-19) Faith (Hebrews 11) Service – (Philippians 2:5-12) …let this mind be in you

  25. Hindrances • Guile (Rom 12:3) • Indiscipline – bring my body into subjection (1 Corinthians 9:27) • Time for God – your source

  26. The world is waiting for us so it can also be transformed (Romans 8:19 - 23)
