  1. Why not give the gift of life and love to a rescue dog?

  2. At Animal Helpline, we have dogs of all shapes and sizes, colours and breeds, to suit any family!

  3. About Us Animal Helpline has been rescuing unwanted dogs and puppies for 30 years Thousands of abandoned canines have found their way to a new home, through us We take in and rehome around 10 dogs a week, that’s over 520 dogs rehomed each year!

  4. The problem Abandoned and stray dogs are taken into council pounds. These dogs then have 7 days to be claimed or rescued.. ..Or they are destroyed (put to sleep) The charity Dogs Trust estimate nearly 9000 stray dogs are put to sleep each year Animal Helpline takes dogs on at their 7 day limit; we are literally the last hope for pound dogs

  5. The problem The dogs in these photos are real pound dogs nearing their 7 day limit. By the time you see this, if Animal Helpline or other rescues have not stepped in to save them, their time will be up, and these innocent dogs will have been destroyed. Photographs supplied by Precious Poundies

  6. However, there is hope! The following dogs HAVE been saved, and are now looking for a new start at life

  7. Some happy endings...

  8. Flloyd Flloyd “was very skinny and covered in scars (and had a belly full of worms)” and was a nervous boy… Before..

  9. Flloyd Having found his forever home, his body weight has doubled, he is content and affectionate, and his new owners say: “We would like to say how thankful we are that places like Homes 4 Dogs give a second chance to dogs with nowhere else to go. 5 Months ago, we definitely never expected to end up with a staffy, but would not be without our Floyd now.” Flloyd now!

  10. Hope Hope the Westie was rescued by Animal Helpline – she was due to be put to sleep because she had mange. She was in poor physical condition and looked very sorry for herself Before...

  11. Hope now Hope has now been given a new start, and a new name! Poppy (as she is now known) is healthy and happy in her forever home, with 4 doggy playmates! Now!

  12. Otto Otto the Doberman came to us, as sadly so many of the strays do, emaciated and looking like a walking skeleton Before...

  13. Otto now! Lucky Otto is now a well and active boy, who has a great home with some canine companions and a big paddock to run around in!

  14. Without Animal Helpline, these happy endings would not exist, and we dread to think where dogs like the ones below would be if we had not been there to save them

  15. How can you help? If you would like to offer a loving home to a rescue dog, please talk to any of our volunteers about the pets available… ..or visit our website at www.homes4dogs.co.ukhomes4dogs.co.uk ..or speak to Ros Norman, the sanctuary owner, on 01780 783331 or 07849637862 637862

  16. Donations The shelter is always in need of extra funds, to provide food for the dogs, pay vets bills and maintain the kennels The latest project we are fundraising for is a play-area for the dogs, we hope to convert some wasteland into a doggy wonderland! From this.. to this!

  17. Or why not join us as a volunteer? You can help the rescue by walking the dogs, cleaning out kennels, helping with fundraising or fostering! We also need help with the planned groundwork and kennel building/ maintenance, so if you’re a dab hand at DIY come along and join us!
