Today's announcements include the return of Project Assignment #1 and instructions for the Project Outline due on 5/25, available on the CREATE website. There is a call for volunteers to assist during exam week. In our focus on Private Schools (Topic #9), we explore demographic insights showing that about 10% of US school children are enrolled in private institutions. Additionally, we discuss parents' motivations for choosing private schools, such as moral/religious values, college preparation, and avoiding desegregation. The potential conflicts between private schools and national concerns, including separation of church and state, desegregation, and equity in education, are also examined.
