  2. Why did the battle take place? • There was disagreement between the Northern and Southern states, mostly over the issue of slavery.

  3. Where did the battle take place? • Manassas, Virginia by a creek called Bull Run.

  4. What was the significance of this battle? • Battle 1: Though the Civil War began when Confederate Troops shelled Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861, the war didn’t begin until after this battle. • Battle 2 : After the second battle , a special Army Ambulance Corps was created.

  6. How the battle was fought? • They used cannons and guns.

  7. Who were the important men of the battle? • Union- General Irvin McDowell • Confederate- General Pierre GustaveToutant Beauregard

  8. Who were the important women of the battle? • Union- Emma Edmonds • Confederate- Loretta Janeta Velazquez
