  36. 1 "Brethren and fathers, hear my defense which I now offer to you." • 2 And when they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew dialect, they became even more quiet; and he said, • 3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today. • 4 "I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons, • 5 as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished. • 6 "But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me, • 7 and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' • 8 "And I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.' • 9 "And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me. • 10 "And I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told of all that has been appointed for you to do.' • 11 "But since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me and came into Damascus. • 12 "A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there, • 13 came to me, and standing near said to me, 'Brother Saul, receive your sight!' And at that very time I looked up at him. • 14 "And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth. • 15 'For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard.

  38. Acts 20: 1-3 (NASB) 1 "Brethren and fathers, hear my defense which I now offer to you." 2 And when they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew dialect, they became even more quiet; and he said, 3 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today.

  41. John 9: 20-25 (NASB) • 20 His parents answered them and said, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; • 21 but how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him; he is of age, he will speak for himself." • 22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.

  42. John 9: 20-25 (NASB) • 23 For this reason his parents said, "He is of age; ask him." • 24 So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, "Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner." • 25 He then answered, "Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see."

  44. Acts 20: 4,5 (NASB) 4 "I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons, 5 as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished.

  45. I Timoteo 1: 13-15 (LBLA) • 13 aun habiendo sido yo antes blasfemo, perseguidor y agresor.

  46. I Timothy 1: 13-15 (NASB) • 13 even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; • 14 and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. • 15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.

  48. Acts 20: 6-10 (NASB) 6 "But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me, 7 and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?' 8 "And I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.' 9 "And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me. 10 "And I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told of all that has been appointed for you to do.'

  50. Titus 3: 4-7 (NASB) • 4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, • 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, • 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, • 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
