  11. Titles • The Advantages of Using Multimodal Transportation System • The Environmental Impacts • Reliable Examples and the Facts

  12. Advantages • Time: Using the facilities of the other modes of transportation in carriage of freight by shortening the time for providing the premium service to the consignee.

  13. Economic: The different pricing system on the basis of the various types of goods, therefore the lower price and more economical options according to the different values.

  14. The equipment flexibility gives more suitible selection to the customers for the cargo with the examples of 20’, 40’, 45’ containers and mega semi-trailers and high cube containers.

  15. Another point is; the less determining factor of the coast of fuel substains more stable usage for the multimodel transportation.

  16. Traffic:The traffic accidents stands out with increasing factor in our daily life. Likewise the importance of these accidents, the other vehicle attain to the accident court to help (ambulance, police etc.), so it creates a traffic jam.

  17. The multimodal transportation system has a big effect to the decreasing of the traffic accidents, the traffic jam, noise pollution.

  18. The World Health Organization specified the dangers of the noise pollution to human's health in 2007. The European Environment Agency’s report contains a population of more than 250.000 of people, 162 cities, 82.000 highways around the towns, 12.000 km railways and 74 commercial airports.

  19. The proposal is; the noise pollution should be limited with 40 dB level in night times. In addition, 55 dB level and more is considerably not healthy for human.

  20. The researches show the population in Europe that has to live with the noise pollution over 55 dB level during the day and over 50 dB level during the night.

  21. The Environmental Impact • It’s an environmentally sustainable system that the multimodal transportation option provides the ecological sensitiveness due to reduced fuel usage, and so CO2 (carbondioxide)emission.

  22. For this environmental anticipating increase of the fossil fuels, multimodel transportation is beign proactively encouraged by the European Union.

  23. Reliable Examples • One of the benefit of the rail trasportation is to be punctual, because the arrival and departure times are determined before, so the delays or the congestions are not common.

  24. The percentages indicate the lower risk of damages when using the transportation by sea or rail, additionnaly the fewer transit points. • Besides, the railway terminals and warbors must agree with strigent international safety requirements.

  25. An example of using multimodel transportation and generate the environmental impacts; 5000 km of road, 1600 liters of fuel, 5520 kg of CO2 from Turkey to the port of Trieste in Italy by Ro-Ro, and from there to Worns in Germany by block trains. This system manages to reduce the distance from 7000km-2000 km.
