This document outlines the data management framework for observations and model outputs in the EPOCA project. It addresses challenges in managing a moderate data volume with a wide variety of data types, parameters, and formats, while emphasizing the importance of metadata. The framework promotes open access to observational data and model results, ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights. It also defines a timeline for data delivery to the EPOCA database, with publicly available data after a 2-year proprietary rights period, and establishes a panel for oversight and recommendations on data policies.

In case of conflicts: Panel for protection, dissemination, and exploitation of knowledge. It will monitor and give recommendations to the EB on priorities aimed at encouraging and promoting data and information exchange in a timely and efficient manner. It will also propose a data policy with binding rules for all project partners and oversee the data management. Members Peter Burkill Reiner Schlitzer (Chair) Markus Weinbauer
