  1. Dogs vs. Cats By : Sirin 9y

  2. Cats and dogs • “A pet is a household animal kept for companionship and a person's enjoyment.” Cats and dogs are the two most popular pets. They both are similar and different in many ways. They have different needs and attitudes but at the same time, both of them need love and care from their owners.

  3. Differences

  4. Loyalty Dogs Cats • Loyal, dependent, devoted to owners • Respond to their owner’s every wish • Come when they are called • Independent • Ignore their owner’s wishes and prefers to be alone • Does not come when they are called

  5. Care Dogs • Needs to be trained • Needs to be taken for regular walks and needs to be cleaned by their owners • Needs someone to play with, dogs do not like to be alone • Needs a lot of attention

  6. Care Cats • Do not need to be trained to use litter box, they clean themselves naturally • They can entertain themselves and do not need someone to play with them • Much easier to take care of and needs little attention

  7. Protection • Cats might meow at night but they are not as loud as dogs. They wont disturb you or your neighbors at night or during the day. However, most of the time, they wont alert you if someone tries to break into your house • Dogs will put their life on the line to protect their owners. If someone tries to break into your house, dogs will alert you and your neighbors by barking or even attacking the stranger.

  8. Affection Dogs • Will show their owner a lot of unconditional love and affection • Will run up to their owners when they’ve returned home to greet them • Appreciates being hugged and petted by their owners • Social animals

  9. Affection Cats • More distant than dogs • Ignore their owners when they’ve returned home • Might scratch their owners when they are being hugged or petted • Prefers to be alone

  10. Similarities

  11. Both cats and dogs require companionship from their owners • Need to get regular shots from the vet to keep them healthy • Can get bored so you’ll need to buy them a toy • have relatives in the wild so they are both good hunters • Dogs can hunt moles in your garden • Cats can catch rats in your house.

  12. Both cats and dogs do get fleas and ticks so they need some attention from their owners. • Both cats and dogs are carnivores so they eat meat • Both cats and dogs are domestic animals so when their kittens • and puppies are • born, they need • a lot of care • from humans.
