Proposed 2003-2004 Priorities • NRT Implementation of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive #5 • Participate in the development of the National Response Plan • Encourage implementation of NRTPlan Reconciliation Analysis recommendations • Clarify role of the National Response Center in relation to DHS Operation Center
Proposed 2003-2004 Priorities • NRT Implementation of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive #5 (cont’d) • Review and revise the National Contingency Plan, Area Plans, and RCPs in accordance with the National Response Plan as necessary • Participate in development of National Incident Management System (NIMS) (encourage use of Preparedness Model) • Participate in review of existing authorities being carried out by the DHS Secretary (09/01/03)
Potential 2003-2004 Priorities • Assess security clearance needs for NRT & RRTs • Address radiation response issues and potential RRT role (tools for response, lead Federal agencies, public protection information and outreach) • Develop Special Teams support guidance for OSCs
Potential 2003-2004 Priorities • RRT role in national issues • Increase RRT Member Training • Continue Implementation of ICS/UC • Facilitate Stakeholder participation including state/local funding and their participation in RRT meetings • Establish relationship with DHS Regions • Identify ways the NRT can assist OSHA in site safety improvements • Improve coordination of exercise within the NRS and with DHS.
