Weetjes: • Een volwassen otter is 80 tot 140 cm lang, inclusief de staart van 30 tot 50 cm lengte. • Het gewicht varieert tussen de 5 en 12 kg en de schouderhoogte is gemiddeld 30 cm. • Mannetjes hebben een kop-romplengte van 60 tot 90 centimeter, een staartlengte van 36 tot 47 centimeter en een lichaamsgewicht van 6 tot 17 kilogram.
