NS Community CollegeEntrance Requirements • Apply Now! • Acceptance on first apply - first qualified basis • Grade 12 Diploma • Some programs have specific prerequisites e.g. math, science, university degree • Academic and Career Connections: - prep year for further programs includes math, communications, sciences - can gain credits toward some college programs or university pre-requisites • 2 + 2 Agreement

Check with each institution! • Required averages usually in the range of 70% + • IB has specific admission requirements. • Bachelor of Arts English 12 + 4 other Grade 12 academic courses • Bachelor of Commerce English 12, Math 12( in some cases Pre-Cal) + 3 other Grade 12 academic courses

  9. How To Apply • Applications are ongoing beginning in semester 1 using Grade 11 marks. • Apply online or in person at specific institution. All applications have a fee. • Complete transcript order form on PAH website, or visit Student Services. ***CHECK APPLICATION DEADLINES*** ESL students – note TOEFL requirements For U.S. universities - SATs required - PAH #825280 Ontario Universities - apply through Central Application Centre www.ouac.on.ca

  10. Scholarships and Bursaries • Most universities have automatic entrance scholarships based on average. Usually 80%+ • Check PAH Student Services/Guidance Website • Listen to announcements • Surf the net - Register onwww.studentawards.com & www.scholarshipscanada.com • Ask at work, religious institutions, community organizations etc. • School funds distributed at graduation -Submit greenstudent information sheets.

  11. Scholarships and Bursaries Remember to: • Keep your resume up to date • Give your references lots of time to write letters of recommendation • Read award criteria carefully • Watch deadlines Student Loans – apply on line, end of May based on need/family income
