  1. Varicose Veins- Should I Be Worried? • Venous insufficiency is another concern that comes with age, especially women are more likely to present this problem. Have you noticed those bulging/ spider veins in your legs? Do they bother you? We will be discussing here what causes those painful veins in your legs, their symptoms and need to seek medical consultation.

What are varicose veins? • The term varicose veins is used to describe the changes under the skin, which can happen in any part of the body but most frequently happen on the legs, which consist of dilated, bulging, swollen veins, sometimes with a spider like appearance, also called telangiectasia.

  3. How do they form? • The vein system in our bodies is a blood system which goes in one direction - from parts of your body to your heart. Its main function is to carry the deoxygenated blood towards the heart for further reoxygenation in the lungs and redistribution to the whole body through arteries.
