  1. Intellectual Ladies Intellectual (adj.): showing the power of knowledge Ladies (n.): women who are refined, polite and well spoken

  2. Goal: To enhance self image and leadership skills. Mission: To maximize self development through community/school service, leadership, and social empowerment.

  3. Common Purpose • We all have something to offer. Everyone may not be your friend. However, we all have something in common. We are all girls that should be able to learn, grow, and fellowship together.

  4. So what are we going to do? Guest speakers to discuss things like skin care, hair care, health and wellness, etiquette, fashion, and careers just to name a few

  5. So what are we going to do? “Chick Chats” Intimate discussions focusing on girl related issues including body image, peer pressure, social media and building relationships.

  6. So what are we going to do? School and Community Service No, I’m not talking about picking up trash. The Intellectual Ladies will perform services that will enhance the quality of our school and community. This could be planting a flower garden to help beautify the school or making signs to encourage our special needs population to do well at a Special Olympics event. It could also mean polishing the nails of elderly residents at an assisted living facility or putting together personal care kits for homeless people. Together, we will learn the value of service.

  8. So what’s next? Commitment – Due September 26, 2012 How committed are you to Intellectual Ladies? Will you do your very best in all of your classes? Will you act like a lady even when no one is looking? Will you help others just because it’s the right thing to do not because you want to be recognized? Will you make every effort to attend all meetings and participate in Intellectual Ladies events? If the answer is yes, then you are committed. You and your parents need to sign the commitment card because you are an Intellectual Lady!

  9. So what’s next? Attend 1st Official Meeting October 5, 2012 from 4:30-5:30 PM. Go to the school website and look for clubs and organizations on the right. Find the Intellectual Ladies page and email Mrs. Spence to let her know that you will be in attendance. Most meeting will be on Friday afternoon from 4:30-5:30. Questions
