Institute for Information Systems (IWi) at DFKI: Pioneering Research in Business Integration

The Institute for Information Systems (IWi) was established in 1979, becoming a research unit of DFKI in 2002, with a focus on "Lifelong Learning," "Business Process Management," and "Business Integration." With approximately 80 staff members, IWi has conducted over 200 research projects, and has fostered 18 spin-off companies. The institute excels in eGovernment, eLearning, eCommerce, and knowledge management, delivering innovative solutions for industries and public administrations. IWi's mission centers on developing comprehensive strategies and tools for integrated business process management.

Staff: • Approx. 80 Employees (incl. Researchers, PhD Students & Student Researchers).
