  3. The patron • The school is named after Ignacy Jan Paderewski – a famous Polish pianist, composer , diplomat and a devoted patriot – the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in 1919. • He signed the Treaty of Versailles , which restored the territories of Greater Poland to Poland.

  4. There are 550 students aged 16-19 organised within 17 classes. Education lasts three years and finishes with a school leaving examination called matura, the same for all students attending such a school.

  5. There are a few subject -oriented forms providing extended level of teaching . • a/ language form • b/ science form based on biology and chemistry • c/ humanities • d/ science and information technology form • e/Arts and science form (emphasis on the Internet and computer graphics)

  6. Our school is known for active participation in many international school programs such as: a/ Model United Nations organised in Lubeck , Hamburg, Alkmaar and Rome b/ „Comenius” c/” Mathematics without borders” d/ cultural exchanges with Hungary , Denmark, Italy and France.

  7. There are some extra curricular activities aimed at students with individual interests. a/ the European Club b/ Young editors (the school newspaper) c/ Photographers’ club d/ Drama classes e/ Sports clubs f/ Scrabble club g/ The Red Cross Club

  8. School life : • Lessons start at 8 o’clock. Classes are devided into smaller groups. • No uniforms • A dress code for school and country’s events and festivals • Own lockers for clothes and books

  9. Festivals and traditions: - September : an integration camp for new students • October : Teacher’s Day, St.Andrew’s Day • November : the Independence Day (11th) • December : Christmas Eve in classes • January: „The Prom”- a party for students who are about to graduate school • March : a Spring Festival • May : final exams
