  1. Status of Scan-forth for hadronic interaction background study Tomoko Ariga for Swiss group

  2. Motivation Hadron re-interactions : important source of background for tau hadronic decay channel Large Monte Carlo uncertainties in estimation of this background To do analyze data to measure the number of decay-like interactions

  3. What is scan-forth ? Scan-back Plate 57 Scan-forth Plate 57

  4. Status Located in brick in Bern : 73 events Scan-forth done : 68 events 229 tracks from primary vertex (rejecting mu, track slope>0.4, e-pair, black track) 116 tracks are target of Scan-forth 23 stopping point (analysis of kink<0.03 not yet) 14 point checked -> 2ry vertex found for 5 stopping points

  5. Followed track length (plates) Total 3.3m

  6. VolumeScan for stopping point 0.6rad (our acceptance) 4mm VolumeScan for 1ry vtx 8mm x 8mm x 9 plates Up 4, Down 5
