  2. Research and Sponsored Programs Audit guidelines All External audits related to sponsored programs should be coordinated through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Protocol for external auditor interaction with University of Wisconsin Madison personnel is defined in the following link: http://www.rsp.wisc.edu/policies/protocol_external_auditor_relations.pdf It is recommended that a representative from the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, in addition to the department’s Business and/or Dean’s Office be present at all times during interviews, phone calls, email communication, follow up calls, any communication method or site visits. If an auditor contacts you, please notify Robert Andresen at 608-262-2896 in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs before answering any questions.

  3. Audit Interview Tips 1.Answer the auditors’ question(s) (and only the question(s)) succinctly and honestly. 2. Consult with notes, documentation and resources as needed. 3. Ask for clarification if you do not understand the question. 4. Treat the auditors with respect and professional courtesy.
