Explore Edinburgh: A Mapping Guide to Sights and Seasonal Delights

This project aims to create an engaging map of Edinburgh, showcasing must-see sights and tours, particularly during the festive season. Inspired by a memorable trip to Scotland with my boyfriend and his family, the map will highlight attractions, including the renowned Christmas and German Market festival, which operates for about a month post-Thanksgiving. I'm considering whether to give the map a design aesthetic or maintain a functional layout. Drawing inspiration from various map art exhibitions, I hope to provide a nostalgic yet useful tool for future visitors.

  2. Project Concept • The plan is to map out the many sights and tours one might want to see and experience while in the city of Edinburgh! Exactly two years ago I went on a vacation with my boyfriend and his family to Scotland. While there we tried to cram in as many sites as we could within a weeks time frame. I want to recreate the trip and make it available for revisiting. This map is seasonally specific because of the must-see Christmas and German Market festival that is only held for about a month beginning the week after Thanksgiving. I am still deciding on whether to make the map have a design aspect to it or look more like a usable map.
