Leisure Committee: Key Service Priorities 2007/08: All targets were either fully or substantially achieved in 2007/08 Capital Work at Venues • Target: To implement the approved capital programme in relation to Bourne Hall and the Playhouse • Achieved: Refurbishment of the auditorium at the Playhouse completed, additional seating to be installed August 2008 The main refurbishment of Bourne Hall completed, new reception expected to be completed in June 2008 Venues • Target: to agree an affordable four year strategy for Bourne Hall, the Ebbisham Centre, Ewell Court House and the Playhouse by October 2007. • Achieved: Strategy approved in October 2007
Leisure Committee: Key Service Priorities 2007/08: (cont’d) Play Areas – • Target: To complete projects to improve play areas in accordance with agreed funding. • Achieved: Alexandra Recreation Ground, London Road Recreation Ground and the Wells Centre projects have been completed on budget. Sports Development & Active Leisure Programme • Target: Continuation of work to deliver the Sports Development & Active Leisure programme. • Achieved: Year 2 of the programme completed. Consultation on play projects within Poole Road and Auriol Park carried out in March with Ward Members
Leisure Committee: Key Service Priorities 2007/08: (cont’d) Reduce anti-social behaviour and improve environment • Target: Implementation of measures to reduce anti-social behaviour; reassure the public and improve the quality of the environment • Achieved: Mentoring scheme and vocational construction-linked training for young people continued. Pilot Community Safety Action Zone (CSAZ) established to include Court Recreation Ground Youth Plan • Target: Continuation of work to deliver the Epsom and Ewell Borough Youth Plan. • Achieved Youth Insight produced and distributed to every secondary school.
