Project Vision Statement The Minneapolis Public Schools would like to consolidate central administration staff to one location that is flexible enough for the future needs of the district, serves as a beacon for future success and is a welcoming hub for all members of our community. The new headquarters will provide financial savings, be a model of environmental sustainability for our city and region andenhance equal employment and business opportunities for minorities and women.

MPS Policy 3310 – Business Partner Diversity The Minneapolis Board of Education on September 14, 2010, voted to implement a policy that will enhance equal employment and business opportunities for minorities, women and diverse communities. Policy 3310: Business Partner Diversity promotes the participation of businesses owned and operated by minorities, women and diverse communities in school district procurement and contracts for goods and services. The policy is a proactive effort of the Minneapolis Public School district to partner with and foster economic development in the Minneapolis community. Business Partner Diversity Program Minneapolis Public School District is committed to providing business opportunities for Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) and other diverse businesses. We serve a student, parent and community base with a wide range of backgrounds and increasingly diverse needs.  In serving these needs, it is critical that we forge lasting relationships with diverse business partners in order to create mutually beneficial relationships. The MPS Business Diversity Strategy is designed to foster relationships and create business opportunities for the most qualified diverse suppliers that will help us achieve our goals. http://diversebusiness.mpls.k12.mn.us/

  7. Minority, Women and Diverse Business Oversight Committee MWDB-POC provides an external review to ensure that project goals for minority, women and diverse business participation are met during the construction of the new Minneapolis Public Schools Educational Service. MWDB-POC will meet periodically to evaluate the use of the resources spent on minority, women and diverse businesses for the construction of the Minneapolis Public Schools Educational Service Center.

  8. Minority, Women and Diverse Business Oversight Committee MWDB-POC will be empowered to ask questions in order to determine that MPS has been “true” to the promise of community, minority, women and diverse business participation on this project. The MWDB-POC will meet four times per year (52 week period) until the project is completed
