  3. What is NEFE? • The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) foundation dedicated to helping all Americans acquire the information and gain the skills necessary to take control of their personal finances.

  4. Program Background • The program is strictly noncommercial in content and all materials have always been provided in bulk at no cost. • 5th Edition 2007 • United States Department of Agriculture – Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES) and participating Land-Grant University Cooperative extension Services • Credit Union National Association (CUNA) • America’s Credit UnionsTM • Junior Achievement (JA)

Where Is It Taught? • Generally taught by public and private school teachers in grades 11 -12 classroom settings • Unique environments including: Native American reservations, 4-H clubs, Technical schools, Juvenile detention centers, Boys and girls clubs, Inner-city community education programs, Summer youth camps, Adult education centers, Churches, Military installations
