  1. Local—Guns are allowed • Sedgwick County residents who have concealed-carry permits may now take guns into many county facilities • All county facilities previously banned guns, but new law is effective immediately.

  2. Local—Gunfights in Cowtown • Saturday at Cowtown, the living-history museum will host “the Age of the Gunfighter” • Streets of Cowtown will replicate Wichita in the 1870—gunfights, merchants, dancers, and musicians • 9:30-4:30, $7.75 adults and $6 for youth

National—President’s Speech Scheduled • President Obama will deliver a speech to a joint session of Congress next Thursday, September 8. • Speech will be about the need for urgent action on our economy and jobs. • Scheduling conflict is the main story however • Wednesday is GOP debate at Reagan Library, and Thursday is Packers vs. Saints football • Speaker of House is John Boehner • He is a R--OH

  4. National—T-Mobil & AT&T won’t merge • It is unlikely that T-Mobil and AT&T will merge • They will be denied due to anti-trust causes • They merger would mean less competition and higher prices for consumers
