  1. Energy Types and Forms

  2. Write the Pendulum of Potential and Kinetic Energy in your notebook

  3. During energy transfers, forms of energy may also be transformed into other forms of energy.

  4. An example:a battery has chemical energy stored inside and can change into electrical energy, that can change into light and heat.

  5. Radiant (Light) Energy • energy transmitted in the form of electromagnetic waves (as heat waves, light waves, radio waves, X-rays)

  6. Electrical energy • is when electricity creates motion, light or heat. An example of electrical energy is the electric coils on your stove

  7. Mechanical Energy • is the energy of motion that does the work. An example of mechanical energy is the wind as it turns a windmill.

  8. Sound Energy • is energy produced by sound vibrations

  9. Thermal Energy • is energy that is pushed into motion by using heat. An example is a fire in your fireplace

  10. Nuclear Energy • the energy released by a nuclear reaction. Fission and fusion

  11. Chemical Energy • is energy caused by chemical reactions.

  12. Gravitational Energy • is motion that is caused by gravity. An example of gravitational energy is water flowing down a waterfall.
