  1. Electricity

  2. Electricity is the main source of energy in 2010. It helps to run almost everything from the tiny light bulb to the huge flying jumbo jet also known as the Boeing 747.

  3. A lot of people think that Benjamin Franklin discovered/invented electricity when he was flying a kite and got struck by lightning. Alessandro Volta was the person who invented electricity. He invented the voltaic pile later known as the electric battery. No wonder voltage and volts are named after him. Volta Franklin

  4. We use machines to generate electricity. Running water can also generate electricity, as can wind. New ways of generating electricity are being formed such as windmills and solar panels. Electricity mostly travels through copper wires but can also travel through other things. It can even travel through tinfoil. Solar panels Windmills

  5. Cars run on fuel but have a big battery to work the stereo and lights and lots of other stuff. The same goes for planes, trains and boats. New fashioned equipment uses an awful lot of electricity. Las Vegas is one city that uses a lot of electricity and you can tell when you look at it at night. BMW M3 car Las Vegas at night

  6. Now ESB is not the only supply of electricity in Ireland, you can also get energy from Bord Gáis Energy and Airtricity. There is actually an Irish soccer league called ‘The Airtricity League’.

  7. Remember electricity is very dangerous so never mess with it. If a cable goes loose call an electrician, don’t think you can fix it yourself. Take care. By Rohan van den Akker.
