Persona #1 – Nicole • 52yo F Caucasian math teacher in a middle school in Newton, MA • Single • Highly educated with masters • Uses e-mails daily, browses the web occasionally • Students in her class use tablets, but she’s not familiar with apps • Above average health literacy level • PMH: Hypertension, arthritis • Social hx: was bullied as a child
Persona #2 – David • 42yo Indian male, recently divorced, two sons • Highly educated, in Biotech industry • Resides in Cambridge, MA • Busy, long days • Frequent user of Facebook, email, Internet, • Noticed suspicious images of his son posted on FB recently • PMH: Mild depression, OCD • Rx: Prozac
Persona #3 – Jake • 35yo Caucasian gay male; Dx with HIV+ in 2005 • Jamaica Plain, MA • Works at Urban Outfitters on Newbury street • Current T cells 300, Viral load undetectable. • Regular visits to a healthcare team • A casual long-term partner who is frequently verbally abusive and occasionally physicall • High school graduate, no further education • Does not have a smartphone, laptop at home for e-mails/web surfing
Persona #4 – Diane • 29yo Caucasian F intern on a community health rotation • Lives in an apartment in Somerville, MA • Overworked, wishes to pursue internal medicine • Community health rotation has better hours in general but very rushed appointments • An avid user of Facebook for personal, and frequently downloads apps to try • Frustrated because she is overwhelmed by lack of time for preventive care and not enough resources + continuing education opportunities • Inadequate printed resources for patients at her hospital
