Changes For 2012-2013 • High school schedule will be a 7 period day • PE Waiver • Must participate in 2 district sponsored activities: athletics, marching band, or cheerleading • 9-11 graders are eligible to participate • PE Waiver will count toward .25 credit (1 semester) of PE • Students are required to take .50 credits (2 semesters) of PE for graduation Created by the DCHS Business & Technology Department

  5. Credit Flexibility What is Credit Flexibility? Senate Bill 311 (also know as Ohio Core) enables students to earn units of high school credit based on a demonstration of subject area competency instead of completing hours of classroom instruction.

  6. Credit Flexibility How can students earn high school credit under the new Credit Flex Program? Option One – Classroom instruction (traditional) Option Two – Demonstration of subject area competency through testing and/or other Assessments Option Three – Educational Option/Independent Plan

  7. Credit Flexibility How can my child participate in this program? Once enrolled in high school, Intent Forms and applications will be available on the Dublin City Schools website with specific timelines in which to apply.

  8. Credit Flexibility Will the grade earned via Credit Flex appear on the transcript and be calculated into the GPA? Yes. It will appear on the transcript just as if the student sat for the class.

Students who have excelled and have a high interest in Science: • Take Physical Science as an 8th grader • Take Physical Science and Biology as a 9th grader • Take Physical Science as a 9th grader and Biology and Chemistry as 10th grader *Students will be able to take more Advanced Placement courses as a junior and senior.
